Major traffic disruptions expected in Kolkata on July 5 due to religious processions | Check details

Kolkata Police has issued a comprehensive traffic advisory for July 5 in light of several religious processions scheduled across the city. Movement on multiple major roads is expected to be affected at different hours, and commuters have been urged to plan their routes accordingly.

The processions are set to begin from early afternoon and will continue into the late evening, covering several high-traffic zones, including Central Kolkata, North Kolkata, South Kolkata, and Behala. Officials have assured that updates will be provided in real time if any further disruptions or diversions occur during the processions.

Public cooperation is being requested to ensure minimal inconvenience and smooth traffic regulation throughout the day.

Procession timings and affected routes:

1. 1:00 PM – Outram Road → J.L. Nehru Road → Dorina Crossing → S.N. Banerjee Road → Moulali → CIT Road → Surahwardy Avenue → Park Circus 7 Point Crossing → Shakespeare Sarani → Hungerford Street

2. 3:00 PM – Hari Sabha Street → Ram Karnal Street → Hem Chandra Street → Ram Nath Pal Road → CGR Road → DEB Road

3. 3:00 PM – Dilazjung Road → K.L. Das Road → K.N. Dutta Road → Tola Bridge → B.T. Road → Bagbazar → Khirod Vidya Binod Avenue → Cossipore Road

4. 4:00 PM – Bidhan Sarani → Hatibagan Crossing → Khanna Crossing → Aurobinda Sarani → Gouri Bari Crossing → R.D. Street → R.G. Kar Road → Belgachia Road → Indra Biswas Road → Paikpara More (Tala Park Avenue) → R.M. Road

5. 4:00 PM – Maharaja Tagore Road → Babubagan Lane → Dhakuria Post Office → Gariahat Road South → Jodhpur Park

6. 4:30 PM – D.H. Road Silpara → Sakher Bazar → D.H. Road → Behala Chowrasta

7. 6:00 PM – Marsden Street → R.A. Kidwai Road → Boyd Street → Elliot Road → Wellesley Square

8. 8:45 PM – S.P. Mukherjee Road → Deshpran Sashmal Road
